Improving your location accuracy depends on your device and how you're connecting (Wi-Fi, GPS, etc.). Here's how to make sure your phone or computer can pinpoint your real, precise location:
📱 On Mobile Devices (using browsers or our Betty app)
🍎 iPhone / iPad (iOS)
-
Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services
-
Make sure Location Services is ON
-
Scroll down to the app you're using to play with us (e.g., Safari, Chrome, iOS Betty app)
-
Tap it, then select:
-
✅ While Using the App (or Always)
-
✅ Precise Location: ON (if shown)
-
👉 Precise Location is key – without it, your phone may only provide a rough estimate.
🤖 Android
-
Go to Settings > Location
-
Turn Location to ON
-
Tap App permissions or App location access
-
Select the app and choose: (e.g. , Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Android Betty app)
-
✅ Allow only while using the app (or Always)
-
✅ Use precise location (toggle ON)
-
👉 Also go to Settings > Location > Location Services > Google Location Accuracy and turn it ON. This uses Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and mobile networks to boost accuracy.
💻 On a Computer (Windows or Mac)
🪟 Windows (Windows 11)
-
Open Start → Settings.
-
Go to Privacy & security → Location.
-
Turn Location services On.
🍎 macOS: Improve Location Accuracy

Click Location Services.
-
Turn Location Services On.
-
Ensure your browser/Betty app is allowed (toggle it on in the list if needed).
🌈 Improve Accuracy in Chrome (Windows/Mac):
-
Use Wi-Fi – not Ethernet. Wi-Fi helps triangulate your location more accurately.
-
Open Chrome > Settings > Privacy & Security > Site Settings > Location
-
Make sure "Ask before accessing (recommended)" is enabled.
-
When prompted by a website, click "Allow" to share your location.
-
If needed, go to the site, click the 🔒 lock icon/slider levels in the URL bar > Site settings > Set Location to Allow
💡 If the location was previously blocked, refreshing is required for the change to apply.

💡 Tips:
-
If you're using a desktop, Wi-Fi is essential – otherwise, your location will be estimated just by IP, which is not very accurate.
-
Bluetooth and Wi-Fi networks near you are used in urban areas to dramatically improve precision.
❗️Other Factors That Affect Accuracy
| Action | Effect on Accuracy |
|---|---|
| ✅ Enable GPS (on mobile) | High improvement |
| ✅ Use Wi-Fi (not mobile or Ethernet) | Medium–high improvement |
| ✅ Turn on "High Accuracy" mode (Android) | Major boost |
| ❌ Use VPN or proxy | Lowers accuracy (IP-based apps) |
| ❌ Disable Location Permissions | Blocks accurate location completely |
| ❌ Use power saving / battery saver mode | May reduce accuracy |
